How automatic propane delivery and tank monitoring works in Fort Myers, what to look for in a supplier, and how our scoring ranks the 42 local options.
Automatic delivery means you never have to watch the gauge or call in an order. The propane supplier tracks your usage history, factors in weather and degree-day data, and schedules a refill before your tank runs low. Tank monitoring takes this a step further with a wireless sensor mounted on the tank that reports the fuel level directly to the supplier (and often to an app on your phone) in real time, rather than relying on estimates alone. In Fort Myers, this matters most during the winter cold snaps that push heating and pool-heater demand up fast, and during hurricane season when generator fuel needs can spike overnight.
When comparing suppliers in this category, look at how they handle the basics: do they guarantee no run-out policy, what's the deployment cost (if any) for a monitor, how often they read tanks that aren't monitored electronically, and whether their delivery routes actually run near your neighborhood on a predictable schedule. Fees for monitoring hardware, minimum annual usage requirements, and tank rental versus ownership terms all vary a lot between companies, so it pays to ask directly rather than assume.
We scored all 42 businesses in this category on reliability, responsiveness, pricing transparency, and how well their monitoring technology actually works in practice. For the full ranked breakdown, see our best propane suppliers in Fort Myers guide. Our scoring approach is explained in detail on the methodology page.

We found 39 businesses offering automatic delivery & tank monitoring in Fort Myers; 37 met the criteria for the scored directory. Most shoppers praise the staff's friendliness and the store's convenient location in North Fort Myers. Prices are fair and the selection works well for farmers, pet owners, and rural households. One customer flagged empty shelves and incorrect discounts at checkout, though the business responded quickly to that concern.
Most customers praise the staff's professionalism and knowledge, citing clean grounds and quick turnaround on services like hitch installation. Several note competitive pricing and personable team members who go out of their way to solve problems. A minority complain about tight lot layout, dismissive handling of damage disputes, and occasional rudeness from staff.
Reviewers consistently praise Blossman for treating small residential jobs with the same priority as large commercial work. Staff members like Alex, Michael, Bruce, and Jennifer earn frequent mentions for professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to reschedule around customer and appliance issues. Online account access and rapid dispatch (often within 24 hours) make routine refills painless. One customer credits them for catching an inaccurate propane tank reading that another company had flagged incorrectly. Installation quality stands out across fireplace retrofits, water heaters, and generator tank setups. Technicians arrive with clean work habits and detailed knowledge. Pricing is described as affordable compared to competitors. Emergency fills are expedited, with one same-day delivery noted. The business has served the area since 1951 and covers multiple Southwest Florida towns.
Strong regular customers praise staff like John (manager) and William (equipment specialist) for their attentiveness and efficiency, with many noting exceptional service during pickups and drop-offs. However, billing disputes recur: customers report being charged for fuel they didn't use, equipment they didn't receive, and other unexplained fees, with refunds taking days or requiring manager escalation. One reviewer was turned away for propane an hour before closing because no staff was available to fill tanks.
Reviewers consistently praise the facility as clean, affordable, and well-managed over many years. The on-site manager Kevin is named repeatedly for going above and beyond for customers.

The location delivers fast, friendly service on good days, with multiple customers praising staff warmth and smooth transactions. However, staffing shortages create bottlenecks, and recent visits describe rude staff, hour-long waits, and poor moving labor, suggesting inconsistent management.
Most visitors praise the friendly checkout staff and well-maintained store, with the dog wash station and birdseed selection drawing repeat customers. However, multiple complaints center on rudeness from at least one staff member named Debbie, inflated prices on some items, and poor handling of live animal purchases and pet clinic scheduling.
Most customers report quick response and named staff who go the extra mile, especially for emergency deliveries. Strengths include a tank-monitoring app and technicians like Nikki, Christine, and Terry who earn repeated praise. The friction point is refill pricing: charged per tank rather than gallon, which customers see as overpriced compared to competitors. Scheduling and follow-up have deteriorated since acquisition by Thompson Gas, with some appointments canceled without notice and customer service gaps lasting months. Service quality splits between install and repair work (well-reviewed) and the business end (confusing pricing, dropped communication). Management conduct has drawn complaints. Open hours listed as 7 days, but a few customers found gates closed before stated closing time.

Five-star reviews highlight fast, easy refills at fair prices with knowledgeable staff. Limited review volume constrains confidence in long-term consistency.
Staff respond fast to routine refills and emergencies alike, with drive-through convenience and direct technician contact. One reviewer paid over $6 per gallon for cylinder refills and felt overcharged; another community project waited weeks for a follow-up quote after an initial consultation.
On-time, efficient refills at fair rates when staff are engaged; however, service reliability swings sharply. Half the reviews praise speed and friendliness, the other half describe unhelpful staff and abandoned customers who left for competitors like Tractor Supply.
Ferrellgas delivers sharp contrasts: some reviewers praise quick emergency response and friendly staff, particularly after hurricanes. Others face weeks-long waits, billing mix-ups, and little local accountability from a corporate call center.
