A guide to residential propane delivery in Fort Myers: how service works, what separates a good supplier from a mediocre one, and how our rankings can help.
Residential propane delivery covers the tank installation, fuel supply, and safety checks that keep a home running on propane, whether that's a whole-house system feeding a furnace, water heater, range, and generator, or a single tank for a pool heater or fireplace. In Fort Myers, where many homes rely on propane for backup power during storm season and for appliances that don't run on the electric grid, choosing a reliable supplier matters more than picking the cheapest price per gallon. We've listed 88 propane suppliers serving the area, ranging from national chains to small local outfits.
When comparing suppliers, look at how they price gallons (some lock in a rate, others float with the market), whether they charge tank rental or lease fees, what their minimum delivery amount is, and how they handle emergency or after-hours calls. Ask about their automatic delivery program, which uses your usage history and degree-day data to schedule refills before you run low, versus will-call service where you have to track your own tank gauge. Also check contract terms: some suppliers require a year-long agreement, others let you switch freely.
Our scoring weighs factors like responsiveness, pricing transparency, delivery reliability, and how suppliers handle equipment installation and safety inspections. For the full ranked list with scores and side-by-side comparisons, see our best propane suppliers in Fort Myers guide. Details on how we build those rankings are on our methodology page.

We found 96 businesses offering residential propane delivery in Fort Myers; 94 met the criteria for the scored directory. The order weighs each business's overall score by how much of its reviewed work is residential propane delivery, so a lower-scored specialist can rank above a higher-scored generalist.
Most visits yield friendly service and a well-organized store stocked with farm, pet, and outdoor gear at fair prices. A minority report product defects and one frustrating instance of a manager giving false stock information on consecutive days, though staff generally work hard despite understaffing.
Most shoppers praise the staff's friendliness and the store's convenient location in North Fort Myers. Prices are fair and the selection works well for farmers, pet owners, and rural households. One customer flagged empty shelves and incorrect discounts at checkout, though the business responded quickly to that concern.
Reviewers consistently praise Blossman for treating small residential jobs with the same priority as large commercial work. Staff members like Alex, Michael, Bruce, and Jennifer earn frequent mentions for professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to reschedule around customer and appliance issues. Online account access and rapid dispatch (often within 24 hours) make routine refills painless. One customer credits them for catching an inaccurate propane tank reading that another company had flagged incorrectly. Installation quality stands out across fireplace retrofits, water heaters, and generator tank setups. Technicians arrive with clean work habits and detailed knowledge. Pricing is described as affordable compared to competitors. Emergency fills are expedited, with one same-day delivery noted. The business has served the area since 1951 and covers multiple Southwest Florida towns.
Most customers praise the staff's professionalism and knowledge, citing clean grounds and quick turnaround on services like hitch installation. Several note competitive pricing and personable team members who go out of their way to solve problems. A minority complain about tight lot layout, dismissive handling of damage disputes, and occasional rudeness from staff.
BJ's Wholesale Club in Fort Myers draws shoppers for competitive prices and convenient access, with staff friendliness noted by regulars. A serious complaint about racial profiling emerged alongside positive feedback on pricing and product quality, though the incident appears isolated within a largely positive 3.9-star rating.

Most customers report quick response and named staff who go the extra mile, especially for emergency deliveries. Strengths include a tank-monitoring app and technicians like Nikki, Christine, and Terry who earn repeated praise. The friction point is refill pricing: charged per tank rather than gallon, which customers see as overpriced compared to competitors. Scheduling and follow-up have deteriorated since acquisition by Thompson Gas, with some appointments canceled without notice and customer service gaps lasting months. Service quality splits between install and repair work (well-reviewed) and the business end (confusing pricing, dropped communication). Management conduct has drawn complaints. Open hours listed as 7 days, but a few customers found gates closed before stated closing time.
Strong regular customers praise staff like John (manager) and William (equipment specialist) for their attentiveness and efficiency, with many noting exceptional service during pickups and drop-offs. However, billing disputes recur: customers report being charged for fuel they didn't use, equipment they didn't receive, and other unexplained fees, with refunds taking days or requiring manager escalation. One reviewer was turned away for propane an hour before closing because no staff was available to fill tanks.
Reviewers consistently praise the facility as clean, affordable, and well-managed over many years. The on-site manager Kevin is named repeatedly for going above and beyond for customers.
The location delivers fast, friendly service on good days, with multiple customers praising staff warmth and smooth transactions. However, staffing shortages create bottlenecks, and recent visits describe rude staff, hour-long waits, and poor moving labor, suggesting inconsistent management.
Most visitors praise the friendly checkout staff and well-maintained store, with the dog wash station and birdseed selection drawing repeat customers. However, multiple complaints center on rudeness from at least one staff member named Debbie, inflated prices on some items, and poor handling of live animal purchases and pet clinic scheduling.
Staff friendliness draws consistent praise, but communication gaps and surprise charges undercut the experience. Propane services are not mentioned in available reviews; this profile rests on limited evidence.
Most reviewers report quick, hassle-free rentals with staff who respond promptly to project needs. However, some encountered beat-up or unsafe equipment and billing disagreements when trying to return damaged items.
Most reviewers praise staff friendliness and fast service, but a significant complaint raises doubt about equipment reliability and management accountability when things go wrong.
Staff respond fast to routine refills and emergencies alike, with drive-through convenience and direct technician contact. One reviewer paid over $6 per gallon for cylinder refills and felt overcharged; another community project waited weeks for a follow-up quote after an initial consultation.
Strong one-on-one service from specific staff members like Harley and Andrew Wilson, with fast exchanges and clean equipment. However, delivery reliability falters: one buyer faced multiple missed dates and excuses, then lost contact with their sales rep until management intervened. The gap between pre-sale attentiveness and post-purchase follow-up is stark.
Ferrellgas delivers sharp contrasts: some reviewers praise quick emergency response and friendly staff, particularly after hurricanes. Others face weeks-long waits, billing mix-ups, and little local accountability from a corporate call center.
Two five-star reviews reflect strong satisfaction with responsive office staff and a named technician (Hugo) who explained work clearly. Evidence is limited to two recent reviews.
Strong service from named staff members (Sandy, Kresta, Brian) who go extra lengths for customers. One recent visitor left disappointed by strict ID requirements, mandatory escorts, and waits that made browsing feel unwelcoming.
Five-star reviews highlight fast, easy refills at fair prices with knowledgeable staff. Limited review volume constrains confidence in long-term consistency.
On-time, efficient refills at fair rates when staff are engaged; however, service reliability swings sharply. Half the reviews praise speed and friendliness, the other half describe unhelpful staff and abandoned customers who left for competitors like Tractor Supply.
