U-Haul Moving & Storage of Historic Ybor City

3.7(206)✓ Google-verified

Staff like Thomas earn strong praise for patience and knowledge during rentals, and many five-star reviews note friendly, efficient service. But propane customers face recurring problems: certified staff often lock up the dispenser before closing, turn away customers, or claim staffing shortages, making refills unreliable despite posted hours. Billing disputes are handled defensively; one $400 charge was slow to resolve and customer service became dismissive when asked for simple written confirmation. The location excels at vehicle rentals and the core U-Haul services. Propane refills here are a gamble, and if you need to discuss a charge or billing issue, prepare for a tense conversation.

United Rentals

3.8(33)✓ Google-verified

Five-star reviews praise staff responsiveness and equipment quality, with customers naming specific technicians like Chris Haun and Ben Bianco. One-star complaints center on overbooking (charging for unavailable units, withholding availability across locations), billing disputes over wrong-sized equipment, and driver safety issues. The business shows a split between loyal repeat customers and those caught in logistics failures.

Suburban Propane

3.4(286)✓ Google-verified

Fast emergency dispatch and skilled technicians earn consistent praise, with Jeremy, David, Timothy, and Colin named repeatedly for leak repairs and installations. Cassandra Murphy stands out for billing flexibility and follow-up. However, one long-term customer faced contract breakdown: gas cut off without proper notice, reconnection delayed weeks, and confusing charges for restoration. Most recent work spans leak fixes, tank installations, appliance service, and cylinder refills. Staff communicate clearly during jobs, though one complaint flags communication gaps in routine contract renewal. Forklift fuel and commercial accounts show the business handles beyond residential.

U-Haul Moving & Storage of East Tampa

3.5(173)✓ Google-verified

Experiences here split sharply. When staff like Dave and Christine are on duty, customers describe fast, gracious service and problem-solving that feels personal. Other visits yield complaints about deposits framed as non-refundable, high prices, and staff unable or unwilling to help with propane refills. The East Tampa location earns strong marks for propane work; sister locations perform poorly.

AmeriGas Propane

2.7(335)✓ Google-verified

AmeriGas on-time deliveries and professional staff earn praise, but service delays, missed appointment windows, and unexplained charges dominate customer reports. Customers describe repeatedly missed delivery dates, week-long waits after being told to run tanks empty, failed website ordering systems, and disputed disconnect fees around $230-240 that customers say lack accountability.

3.3(7)✓ Google-verified

Five-star reviews praise fast service and friendly staff, but recent complaints reveal serious gaps: missed deliveries, poor scheduling communication, and a reported unsafe driver incident. The rating spread (57% five-star, 43% one/two-star) signals inconsistency worth investigating before committing.

Propane Refill at U-Haul

1.0(2)✓ Google-verifiedPublishes prices

One reviewer visited twice in one day and found the propane refill service unavailable both times because only one employee could operate it, and she had left by his second attempt. The location's loading dock limits which vehicles can unload, concentrating all refill work on a single untrained staff member.
